TOP HAIR International Trend & Fashion Days Düsseldorf once again experienced further growth this year, as well as an additional increase in quality. "We obviously touched a nerve in the hairstyling industry with the concept of this event," exclaimed director Helmut Winkler happily after the three days of the trade fair. "With 380 exhibitors and brands, and 28,100 trade visitors, we have reached a new peak. Thanks to the continuous development and our investments in quality and ambience, we have reached our goal in just five years and are now the leading trade fair for hairstylists not only in Germany, but also in all of Europe. The hairstyling industry has found a new platform here in Düsseldorf."
Rolf Wilms, managing director of TOP HAIR International GmbH and publisher of the identically named magazine, was also more than satisfied with the success of the cooperative event: "This year's TOP HAIR International Trend & Fashion Days Düsseldorf exceeded our expectations. The further developed concept with its clear separation between order and direct sales areas was extremely well received by both exhibitors and visitors, and received a great deal of praise. The visitor numbers were considerably higher this year than last year. The spacious layout in the halls ensured that there was always a pleasant atmosphere in spite of the high number of visitors. We are very pleased that the hairstylists have meanwhile accepted this event as the premium event in Europe. For us this represents a challenge to continue developing the concept in the future."
The quality of the extravagant shows presented by international star stylists on the large stage at TOP HAIR International Trend & Fashion Days Düsseldorf is unique in all of Germany. The highlight of this year's event was the show created exclusively for the Düsseldorf trade fair by the Israeli top stylist Shuki Zikri, who impressed with his unusually fast, precise cutting motion, sending seven divas across the catwalk with breathtaking works of hair art in front of more than 3,000 spectators. Further highlights in the show programme included the appearances by Tim Hartley and the "British Hairdresser of the Year", Akin Konizi. In a total of 13 shows, trade fair visitors had plenty of opportunity to marvel at creative interpretations of current trends. Other featured stylists included Bertram K, Keller The School, JeanLuc Paris, Mike Karg and Jo Blackwell, as well as the teams from Aveda, Goldwell, KMS California, Hairdreams, icono and Paul Gehring.
On five rather than the previous four workshop stages in the neighbouring hall, a total of 135 practical presentations took place. Here visitors received inspiration for their daily work routine and experienced new cutting techniques, as well as colour and styling trends, staged by players such as Wolfgang Zimmer, Ronald Reinholz, H3, Kertu und Mod’s Hair for L’Oréal Professionel, the Wella Artistic Team, Sassoon Academy, Thorsten Hussfeldt/Capelli Group for Glynt, Beni Durrer, Goldwell, Paul Mitchell, the Tondeo Cut’n Style Team, Reza Shari for Revlon, American Crew, Schwarzkopf Professional and Marco Wojach for Haaro.
With its fifteen top speakers, the congress programme included business plans and entrepreneurial education for owners and managers, as well as strategies for ambitious employees. A special focus was placed on the latter on trade fair Monday under the motto "Career and Training".
With 380 exhibitors and brands, nearly all large-scale hairstyling businesses participated in the trade fair this year, offering a comprehensive market overview regarding hairstyling-exclusive products, equipment, tools of the trade and services. The exhibitors unanimously praised the new separation between order and direct sales areas, as well as the professionalism of the visitors. With 56 percent master hairstylists and 47 percent salon owners, TOP HAIR International Trend & Fashion Days Düsseldorf traditionally boasts an unusually high density of industry leaders.
The next TOP HAIR International Trend & Fashion Days Düsseldorf takes place from 19 to 21 March 2011. BEAUTY International Düsseldorf takes place concurrently from 18 to 20 March.
